Memorial address

On the 140th anniversary of the birth of the distinguished international pharmacist, Prof. Franc Minařik, who was born in the glassworks of Novi Benediktov Dol, in the heart of the 400 million-year-old golden rapids of Lobnica and the Pohorje ecosystem, we continue his legacy with a commitment to sustainable development, nature protection and ecological responsibility. We were guided by his slogan “Work is the vitamin of life”, with the philosophy of Gnothi seauton guiding us towards self-knowledge, responsible treatment of nature and sustainable development, based on the values of virtue ethics and ecological awareness.

The goal

To achieve sustainable development and preservation of natural heritage with renewable resources (wood, stone, water) and promote ecological responsibility within the framework of the Natura 2020 boutique tourism development strategy, based on unique natural and cultural experiences. We achieve this through the worldview orientation of the Gnothi seauton philosophy within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals:

Purpose

Promoting sustainable practices, innovations and cooperation in the field of environmental protection and renewable resources, including the Tale Up application, which allows a virtual tour of the natural beauty of Pohorje.

A vision

To create a globally connected community I LOVE NATURA 2020: WOOD. STONE. WATER, which establishes Slovenia and the Natura 2020 association as leading actors in the field of nature protection and development of sustainable green solutions, including the Gnothi seauton philosophy. The vision is connected to the EXPO 2027 world exhibition, as Ruše is known as “Little Belgrade”.

Charitable sustainability initiative

The initiative combines nature, art and diplomacy and supports innovative projects for the preservation of the heritage of the Pohorje–Drava–Kozjak ecosystem, including the Black Lake – Black Sea water cycle.

With the permanent photographic exhibition Minařik’s Silk Rapids, created in collaboration with the Maribor Photo Club and with the donor support of the ECOM company, set up as Minařik’s memorial corner in the lobby of the new sports gym of the Janko Glazer Ruše Elementary School and now also online, we pay tribute to the greatness of Prof. Franc Minařik on his 140th anniversary.

With a festival of panoramic rides on a tourist train, walks, cycling and running, we visit the birthplace and former administrative building of the Novi Benediktov Dol glassworks next to the 400 million-year-old golden rapids of Lobnica.

It is the vision of NATURA 2020 FOR A CLEAN PLANET AND GOOD PURPOSE, which strives for a deep connection with nature and the adoption of ethical values, such as respect for nature, transparency and responsible management – all for a better future for all generations. As a foundation for this vision, we contribute the philosophy of Gnothi Seauton, which guides us on the path of sustainable management and responsible management – NATURE. ART. DIPLOMACY.

The strategic development conference is a platform for discussion and co-creating of sustainable, innovative and cosmopolitan solutions, which are based on the philosophy Gnothi seauton. They evolve in the context of unique vision I LOVE Natura 2020. Wood. Stone. Water.

Beside the legendary freight locomotive TDR MICA will be held a symbolic meeting to commemorate our supporter Anton Medved, the legend of railway management and leadership.

This year we will perform again a ride with a tourist train to make happy up to 400 pupils of the Elementary school of Janko Galzer and their parents at a traditional school chestnut picnic.

Above mentioned three world wonders are, as follows:

57 hectares large natural reserve of mixed forest, where spreads 19 hectares big natural value of the virgin forest Šumik. In its heart are 400 million years old waterfall, 400 million years old enchanted Pohorje Sleeping Beauty, i.e. watercourse Lobnica, a humming pearl, as well as 400 million years old 24 metres high stone of glassworks wisdom and art nearby the waterfall. In this stone a sharp photographic eye can see a supernatural portrait of the face of the water sprite Jezernik.

Purpose

The purpose of socially responsible innovation is commonly beneficial, charitable and sustainable. It addresses common benefits of promotion of movie, photographic and literary art.

Its aims are, as follows:

promotion of destination, health, the ESG campaign and umbrella brand through sports passion, natural beauties and cultural heritage;
empowerment of target public of 195,000 pupils and 115,000 people with various disabilities. Ideal fans are 300,000 daily listeners of the RADIO 1 (‘Denis Avdić Show’). Ideal client is a Hollywood star Charles Keanu Reeves;
awakening of interest for joint investments in innovative Metaverse solutions based on the XR technology, as well as real estate and hotel management.

The vision of documentary and feature movie tourism Natura 2020 in combination with photographic tourism Natura 2020 addresses spiritual experience of energetic hiking along the Lobnica creek, which flows through the virgin forest Šumik and joins the trinity of rivers Drava-Sava-Danube. Thus, it forms the water circle Black lake–Black Sea.

the water circle Black lake–Black Sea creates golden rapids of colossal green luxury of the sustainable ecosystem Pohorje mountainside-Drava river-Kozjak mountainside.
